Italy, with its complex classification system and 1,200 or so grape varieties, produces one quarter of the world’s wine, from the cheap and cheerful to the genuinely classic – the latter well known as such by UK consumers. From Tuscany, there is a Chianti Classico Riserva of exceptional quality and, from the Veneto, multi-award-winning Amarone and Ripasso Valpolicella wines – the pinnacle of Italian winemaking expertise.

Cantina di Soave

Cantina Sociale di Soave (winery created in 1898) is located in Soave, Verona and is the most important Cooperative in the Soave & Valpolicella regions. Today they have 1,500 members, 434 growers, 4,200 hectares of vineyards (70% of which are DOC and DOCG), The Cantine produces around 50% of all Soave and Valpolicella produced and is noted for the excellent quality of its wines from Soave and Valpolicella DOC through to Amarone, for which it consistently wines Gold medals in important competitions.

Cantine due Palme

Cantine Due Palme was established in 1989 by 400 members, between them growing both native grape varieties :Negroamaro, Malvasia Nera and Primitivo, as well as non-native varieties: Sangiovese, Montepulciano, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, Black and White Pinot, Chardonnay and Sauvignon. Black grapes represent 85% of total production; the remaining 15% are white grapes. The production per year is around 6,000 tons of grapes and the winery has a storage capacity of 100,000 hectolitres. In Cellino San Marco they have bought a new 10,000 sq. mt. winery, comprising of a sales office, tasting room, a sales point, a cellar (French oak barrels, French oak tonneaux and Slavonian oak barrels), and a 1,000 sq. mt. warehouse, where the bottling phase takes place and bottled wine is stored.

Giovanni Bosca Tosti Spa

Tosti is located at Canelli, in the heart of the area with Controlled and Guaranteed Denomination of Origin for the production of Asti wine. The hillsides, furrowed by the rows of vineyards, are the backdrop to their modern production facility. Maria Cristina and her husband, Giovanni Bosca, the seventh generation heir of the family that founded the estate in 1820, run the business. Tosti markets 11million bottles to the world, 7 million of which are sparkling wines with the Tosti label and the remaining 4 million are vermouths and aromatized wines. Sales are equally split between export and the home market. Of approximately 90,000 Hl processed in a year, over half comes from grapes pressed on the estate and from musts bought from selected wine growers’ co-operatives and winemakers. Most of the grapes come from vineyards owned by the Bosca family. The Company has 50 employees and operates with about 80% of the Large-Scale-Distribution in Italy through a sales network of 55 people.

Piccini Srl

Located in Castellina in the heart of Chianti, Tuscany since 1882, covering four generations with the passion and wisdom to evolve and combining the traditional with the modern. Piccini alone are responsible for 15% of the entire production of Chianti Classico. Their vineyards are Tenute Piccini (380 hectares), Valiano (230 hectares) & Moraia (170 hectares). Piccini have a winery capacity of 7.5million litres and they use the following grapes: Sangiovese, Cabernet, Merlot, Syrah, Ciliegiolo, Chardonnay, Malvasia, Vernaccia They have had BRC accreditation since November 2007 and are able to do a range of sizes of products including 1.5l, 1l, 75cl, 50cl, 37.5cl & 25cl; as well as 3l Bag-in-Box and both engraved & embossed bottles.

Tommasi Viticoltori

Tommasi Vitcoltori is a family winery founded in 1902. It is situated in Pedemonte, in the heart of the historic Valpolicella Classico region which extends to the northwest of Verona, Italy. From their grandfather’s original small vineyard, the Tommasi estate has grown steadily over the years and today extends to over 135 hectares of hillside vineyards. The estate is run by the 4th generation of the family. The family owns exceptionally well-situated estates for the production of high quality whites in the D.O.C regions of Soave, Lugana (near Lake Garda), Custoza and Bardolino. In addition it has vineyards in Valdadige, where it produces white wines of world stature such as Pinot Grigio. Above all else, Tommasi is principally acclaimed for its incomparable red wines from the Valpolicella Classico region (Amarone, Classico, Valpolicella Classico Superiore – Recioto della Valpolicella) whose characteristics make them unique.

Val D'Oca

Val d’Oca are located at the foot of the Veneto’s Pre-Alps and was established in 1952 by a handful of vine growers. Since then the company has constantly grown and today the co-operative is sustained by 593 producers who tend over 650 hectares of vineyards (organic = 5 hectares), much of which lies on hills. Since it’s establishment Cantina Produttori di Valdobbiadene has been recognised as a leader company in the Valdobbiadene area, tracing the lines of the development of Prosecco production from a local wine to an international best seller.
