Spier Signature Merlot
The wine shows dark berries on the nose with subtle hints of oak and mint chocolate aromas. A fruit driven palate shows luscious cherry and lingering berry flavours.
Trellised vines aged 7-9 years.
The juice was fermented in stainless steel tanks. Three pump overs were conducted daily. Some 20% of the wine was matured in French oak barrels for 4-8 months, the rest matured in stainless steel tanks with French oak staves.
