Ochoa Moscatel
The decision of producing a new style of sweet wine made of “Moscatel de
Grano Menudo” grapes was a personal decision that Javier Ochoa took when
he was investigating at EVENA, Navarra’s Oenological Research Centre.
We believe Moscatel is a very special grape variety that requires a long
growing season as it tends to bud early and ripen late. We harvest the
Moscatel grapes quite late to achieve a high concentration of sugars and
flavours.
Our Moscatel vineyard in Traibuenas faces south, allowing an over-maturity of
the berries. We handpick the grapes and select the best ones, with higher
sugar concentration in order to obtain a sweet wine intense in aromas and with
the perfect balance between sugar and acidity.

Tasting notes
A very complex nose, with strong and fresh aromas, toasted notes
and hints of raisings of Moscatel. In the mouth it has a velvety feel that enhances its incredible fruit character. In its long aftertaste we can find the notes of intensely ripe fruit matching the diversity of aromas.
