Ochoa Serie 8A - Mil Gracias
This is the first wine of the 8A Series, a new line developed by Adriana. The
family surname OCHOA is represented by the number eight (ocho) and the letter
A, thereby reading ocho-a. This idea was originally used by her grandfather
Adriano and so, in creating her own style of wine under this symbol, and using a
local proverb sourced by her father Javier, she is combining three generations of
family tradition and innovation.
The Spanish proverb on the front label describes the quirky Graciano grape;
these small, astringent berries are not the best for eating, but they provide
concentration of elegant aromas, naturally high acidity and vivid colour with
great ageing potential. So Adriana has created MIL GRACIAS, 100% Graciano,
made exclusively with such an interesting grape.

Tasting notes
This wine is surprising for its colour, deep and violet. On the nose appears the reductive character of the Graciano variety, it needs to breathe and get air that’s why decanting is a good choice. When the wine starts breathing mineral notes appear, very ripe black fruits and white pepper. Very complex wine. On the palate is an explosion of aromas, combined with soft and pleasant tannins that invite you to drink for the second time.
