Montes Alpha Carmenere
With only 11 miles from the Pacific Ocean, the relatively cold climate allows us to ripe the grapes slowly and smoothly, reaching full maturation and fruit expression. The soil profile is on majority clay that provides strength and power to the wine. The grapes are handpicked using small bins in order to keep the grapes is perfect conditions before reaching the winemaking process. The grapes are macerated at low temperatures (48°F / 9°C) for 7 days before fermentation. The fermentation process last 10 days, period on which few pumps over process are made in order to obtain color and soft tannins. When the fermentation process is finished, the wine is moved to French oak barrels (new and used) where it is kept for 12 months.

Tasting notes
Deep and live ruby red color. The wine has a very elegant and evident Carmenère tipicity, showing lovely black pepper aromas with hints of red berries, chocolate, a bit of vanilla and black plums. In the mouth is distinctively smooth, with rounded and soft tannins. Long finish. The oak is beautifully integrated and balanced.
