Botham Merrill Willis Cab Sauv in the Sunday Express Magazine
4th Oct 2009 - Jamie Goode focuses on the Cabernet Sauvignon grape in part four of his "world tour of wine". One of the wines he selected was the Botham Merrill Willis 2005 McLaren Vale/Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon.
"Winemaker Geoff Merrill became friendly with England cricketers Ian Botham and Bob Willis when they toured Australia in 1978. The trio kept in touch and later decided to work together. The result is this: a lovely cabernet that combines the gravelly, leafy blackcurrant fruit typical of Coonawarra with riper, sweeter, lusher fruit from the warmer regions of McLaren Vale."
