PLB BRINGS FIRST BLACK BRAZILIAN BEER TO THE UK

PLB Group is pleased to announce that the authentic Brazilian Black Beer, Xingu (pronounced shin-goo) has gained its first UK retail listing in Tesco, with an RRP of £1.40 per 355ml bottle.

Brewed in Brazil by the Kaiser Brewery, Xingu (4.6% abv) is the sister brand of the UK’s first authentic Brazilian brewed beer - Palma Louca, first brought to the UK by PLB in 2008.

The two brands have teamed up with Festinho, named one of the top 10 alternative festivals in the UK by the Observer. Held at Kentwell Hall in Suffolk (4th-6th September 2009), all profits from the Brazilian themed event go to the ABC Trust, the London-based charity that funds community-led projects for Brazilian street kids. Palma Louca and Xingu will have sole beer pouring rights at Festinho, attended by 2500 individuals and showcasing an eclectic mix of up and coming new music and creative talent from both the UK and Brazil.

“Xingu is a light and refreshing black beer, surprisingly smooth and very drinkable all year round. These characteristics have made the beer a worldwide success in Brazil, America, Australia and now the UK.” Comments Brand manager Martin Howe. “Our partnership with Festinho is a great match for both the Palma Louca and Xingu brands, and we’re proud to be working with the ABC Trust to help young people in Brazil to transform their lives.”

If you'd like to find out more about Xingu, or stock the beer, please call PLB on 01342 336536.
