PLB APPOINTS NEW SALES & MARKETING PERSONNEL

Leading independent distributor PLB announces a number of new Sales & Marketing appointments.

Nicola Basterfield has taken on the role of National Account Manager for The Co-operative Group. Nicola joined PLB on the 1st September, coming from Magners Irish Cider. Basterfield brings with her a wealth of experience in the commercial sector, both from her NAM role at Magners and in previous sales roles in Waverley TBS and Scottish & Newcastle.

Willem Hunter has recently joined the PLB marketing team as Brand Manager, also as of the 1st September, with responsibility for the Viña Ventisquero, Yali, Spier, Sutter Home & Trinchero family vineyards brand portfolios. Willem’s career to date in the wine and drinks industry has spanned both the UK and South Africa, and he was most recently employed at Waverley TBS. He also has experience in retail from Majestic and the On-trade where he has spent time as a sommelier.

Emmanuel Taupin has been appointed as Area Manager for the Northern Home Counties as part of PLB’s On-Trade and Speciality Retail team. Taupin joins from Lanson International, where he has worked for the past 10 years as a Sales Manager and has built solid relationships over that period of time, with experience of all areas of the market.

PLB began importing wines 26 years ago a has grown to become one of the UK’s largest suppliers to the multiple grocer trade, as well as servicing the independent wine merchant and on–trade through PLB’s rapidly expanding On-Trade and Speciality Retail division. The company also distributes to customers in key international markets. With a wine and beer producer base that covers Europe, the Americas, Australasia and South Africa, PLB can truly claim to be at the forefront of the UK drinks trade.
