Spier Private Collection Chenin Blanc

Spier Private Collection Chenin Blanc

Rich aromas of dried apricot, ripe pinapple, marmalade and subtle oak. A full, round palate with generous fresh fruit and crisp lively acidity on the finish. Trellised vines aged 6-9 years yielded the grapes for this wine, at an average of 6 ton per hectare. Grapes from selected vineyard blocks were hand harvested and hand sorted before gently crushing and pressing. Following fermentation in French oak barrels, the wine matured on the lees for 10 months. Only the finest barrels were selected for blending and bottling. 95% Chenin Blanc and 5% Viognier.
