PLB SIGNS NEW SPANISH AGENCY - BODEGAS NAVAJAS

Leading independent importer PLB has been appointed UK agent for Rioja winery Bodegas Navajas, with effect from the 1st March.

Located in the town of Navarrete in the heart of La Rioja, and headed up by MD and head of the family Antonio Navajas, the family business has carved out a strong, prestigious reputation on an international level, producing 1.6 million bottles annually across the range.

The agency will be a key strategic focus for PLB’s growing wholesale division, who will distribute the Navajas wines to existing and new independent retail and on-trade customers. PLB’s Buying Director Europe, Nick Tatham MW, commented: “Spain is performing extremely well in the UK and we see this appointment as a great opportunity. The Bodegas Navajas wines are complementary to our portfolio, giving us a very strong Spanish proposition to offer customers. The range consists of a Rioja Joven and a Rioja Crianza (Navajas’ two biggest sellers in the UK and globally) including white and rosé styles, as well as a Rioja Reserva and Gran Reserva.
