Step Road and McWilliam's Win IWC Trophies!

Today the IWC trophy 2010 results have been announced in which the Step Road Chardonnay 2007 won the trophy for "Best Australian Chardonnay"

In addition to this, the McWilliam's Mount Pleasant Elizabeth Semillon 2005 won the overall "Best Australian White" trophy.

This award accompanies a series of accolades which makes McWilliams the most awarded winery in Australia - they are currently celebrating being named ‘Winery of the Year’ in the latest edition of the hugely influential Big Red Wine Book, published annually in Australia.

Described as a winery that is “firing on all cylinders” by authors Campbell Mattinson and Gary Walsh, McWilliams is additionally awarded ‘Shiraz of the Year’ in this 2010/11 issue of the book for its Mount Pleasant Maurice O’Shea Shiraz 2007, outscoring the 2005 Penfolds Grange and the 2005 Henschke Hill of Grace.

McWilliams also recently became one of the 15 inaugural members of Matthew Jukes’ Hall of Fame - comprised of wineries which have featured in every one of his 100 Best Australian Wines lists - and won Gold Medals at both the IWC and Decanter World Wine Awards this year.

PLB would like to congratulate both our suppliers on these fantastic awards!
