Plaimont feature in Oz Clarke's top 250 for 2010!
"The best area for French bargain whites, snappy and fresh, is Gascony in South-West France. ou'll find good examples under several titles, all vins de pays: Cotes de Gascogne, Gers and Comte Tolosan are the most likely ones. They're reliable, they're bright and fruity. The only caveat is that occasionally producers sweeten the odd one up a bit for us Brits. I wish they wouldn't. They're far better dry. At the moment the Sainsbury's one is particularly sharp, zinging with grapefruit and green apple and lemon zest."
